1. "I believe I am a competent presenter, but I want to become an inspirational presenter, to help me lead the company into a brighter future." This is what the Regional Vice-President of a large multinational said in his brief to Black Isle Communications. After the Vice President completed our Presenting with Impact individual coaching program, he addressed a group of 60 of his managers. Here's what one manager said to him afterwards:"Last night's presentation moved me. You helped me realise what a great company I'm in. I liked the way you made us look at and listen to you."
2. A senior partner of a leading professional services firm was frustrated by the amount of time he spent editing his staff's client reports, business cases and new business proposals. He said he was "fed up with being the editor around here, and working late to make up for the time wasted." He sent his team on Black Isle's one day Effective Business Writing Workshop. The aim was for everyone to save time, by writing more efficiently and confidently, by shortening the review process and by achieving desired outcomes sooner.
3. The National Management Committee of a Top 50 company asked their Learning and Development Director to improve the standard of senior manager presentations to the committee's quarterly business review meetings. The Learning & Development Director asked Black Isle Communications to tailor a training/coaching program aimed at enabling senior managers to present more succinctly, confidently and persuasively. We developed a "combination" program of small group workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions which rolled out nationally across the company.
4. An aspiring middle manager in a leading Australian bank was unable to advance to the next level in her career because of a lack of influencing skills and leadership "presence." Her Human Resources manager suggested an individual coaching program with Black Isle Communications. Following six x two hour sessions, one-on-one, the manager advanced to the next level with greater confidence, persuasion and "presence".
5. A leading professional services provider asked us to help improve the influencing skills of their global leaders. These senior managers are required to lead by influence rather than by authority, via the company's matrix organisation structure operating across a range of countries, industries and disciplines. Black Isle tailored a three-day training and coaching program to improve the leaders' ability to more successfully influence up, down and across the organisation. The program explained in simple, practical terms the theory of influencing, and then set about to improve the leaders' business writing, presentation and networking skills. |
